Ontario Early Years programs offer parents, caregivers, children and their families a warm and friendly spot to meet and share with one another.  You and your children have the opportunity to explore different toys, to develop social skills, and to take part in special events.  You have a chance to relax, play with your child, enjoy friendly chats over coffee or tea, and make use of many parent resources.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In order to protect the safety and well being of children in our programs, Muskoka Family Focus and Children’ Place Programs respect and support the permissible adult to child ratios for caregivers as dictated by the Day Nurseries Act.

Please follow your child around the room.  If you must leave an area without your child, please ask another adult to watch your child.  Assist your child in washroom, craft, snack, and climbing areas.

All workshops have a few things in common and each will provide an opportunity to: 

  • Add some strategies to your  parenting “toolbox”
  • Share and network with other parents
  • Discuss developmental stages, positive communication and discipline
  • Ask questions, share successes and discuss challenges

  • Learn about other local agencies that provide help and services for specific problems, for  example: 

           “I think my child may need speech therapy, a hearing test, vision screening, etc”.

Volunteer Lunch Makers help prepare a light nutritious lunch once or twice a month for our families in the Early Years programs.   

 

The Volunteer Program at Muskoka Family Focus & Children's Place is a great way for adults and older youth to give back to the community.

Our Volunteer Drivers are fully screened volunteers who transport families to the various Early Years Centres, Great Beginnings and Growing Up programs throughout Muskoka. If volunteers are available a taxi will be provided.
