Parenting is a tough but rewarding job.
With the support of the EARLY YEARS SYSTEM in Parry Sound/Muskoka
you can find others to share in the joys and challenges of caring
for young children.
Early Years Programs are great places for adults and children, 0 to
6 years of age to drop in, meet, share, play and find friendly support
and information. Welcoming staff provide fun, interactive activities
for you and your child(ren) to enjoy together. Make new friends,
learn about the community and watch your child acquire new skills,
explore and learn.
These free programs set the stage for lifelong learning and are open
to anyone. The Early Years system even has volunteers who offer free
transportation. Just call 645-3027 and ask for our Coordinator of

In Muskoka the Early Years System is operated by Muskoka Family Focus
and Children's Place with lead agency Algonquin Child and Family
Services. It is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Community,
Family and Children's Services.

PARENT EDUCATION:
Workshops are for parents, caregivers and professionals who work with
children and want to learn more. These courses focus on discipline,
communications skills and understanding what appropriate expectations
are for each stage and age of development. These free workshops,
some with free childcare, are offered regularly in the Early Years

VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteers are an important part of the Early Years system.
They provide transportation to Early Years programs, workshops
and perform other valuable services supporting parents and families.
